Hey y'all! My name is Rachel Reese and I am Dr. Reese's daughter. I wrote a blog about a year ago about my experiences with braces and their beautiful results (Thanks again dad!). I just got back a week ago from completing my freshman year of college at North Carolina State University, home of the Wolfpack! I thought it would be fun to write a continuing blog about my experiences from this past year and future plans. Like I said, I just completed my freshman year and will be returning to Raleigh in the fall for my third semester at the university. I'm registered for all of my classes for next semester (one of which is horseback riding, Giddee up!), finished with finals and ready to enjoy a fun summer at home with the family! Over the past year, I have become involved with a lot of extracurricular activities that I am very passionate about. I attend Campus Crusade for Christ and am plugged into an all girls bible study. This connection has been the most important to me and to surviving my freshman year! I also volunteer on a small ruminant educational unit, own and ran by the university itself. Essentially, I am a farm hand and help with research projects concerning goats and sheep as well as anything else that needs done on the farm itself. I also hold a part time job at the clothing store, Abercrombie & Fitch. Aside from all of this, I am an active member of the NCSU Poultry Science Club. I am double majoring in both poultry science and animal science, and I hope to attend vet school after I complete my undergrad work. So I have definitely kept myself busy over the past year! Now that I am home in good ole Indiana for the summer, I am looking forward to spending time with my family, especially with my dad as I will be working in the office pretty regularly over the course of the summer. I also plan on working part time as a vet assistant in a clinic on the north side of Indianapolis, and putting in a few volunteer hours at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, Indiana. I hope y'all have a great summer; I know I will!
