You may notice a new face in the office, Carla. Here she is preparing the CEREC machine for a new porcelain crown made right in the office. Same day crowns, no return visit.
CEREC crowns are made using CAD-CAM technology in the office, same day, so that you don't have to miss another day of work to have them fitted.
What are Crowns?
A crown is a type of restoration dentistry which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns can be made from many materials, but we use a porcelain finish with a hard ceramic substrate.
The most common method of crowning a tooth involves using a dental impression of a prepared tooth by a dentist to fabricate the crown outside of the mouth, which requires the crown to be tested at a second visit. However, Dr. Reese uses CAD/CAM technology and a CEREC machine, allowing the crown to be made on the same visit.
